Yes winter is back with a minus -15 here this morning. Cloudy skies with a few signs of sunshine. It is never too crowded here, far from some other neighbouring resorts. In case you did not know, Mont Blanc is amongst the highest summits of the Laurentians, only second after Tremblant.
Bases have hardened with the cold weather, so it’s a good idea to refresh and sharpen those edges. A little over 50 % of the terrain is available for skiing / riding on groomed surfaces. A nice run called the « Moustache » with a few steeper parts, for a little challenge.
Contrary to the wet rainy downpours in Montreal and other regions earlier this week, Mont Blanc was spared, and got a little rain, but more of the « white form » of precipitation, add to that about 8 new centimeters in the past 24-48 hours, so the conditions here remain very nice. At this point, a few runs are available on the St-Faustin side, with intensified snow making, and they are also working hard, with guns at full blast on North Side. It should soon be open.
My Trail of the Day : the « Slalom Géant ». A wide well groomed trail, intermediate caliber (blue), ideal for some wide carving turns.
A short glimpse of the sun in the afternoon, and still, not too much of a crowd, as you can see at the bottom of the « Main » Side. Perfect for a « up and down » mode !
The Bar Les Pionniers offers a musical après-ski with a live folk singer, starting at 3:30 pm. You can also watch the Habs next 2 hockey games on wide screens tonight and tomorrow. Come and try new equipment tomorrow, with a demo happening all day. You can ski here from 8:30 am to 8:00 pm during the week-ends.
For tomorrow, it’s advisable to add some layers, as it will be aother winter day, cloudy with a few flurries (1 cm), and minus -13. Cold again this Sunday with minus -15 at the thermometer, and a mix of sun and clouds. Have a nice week-end !
