Headline picture is this beautiful painting from Foisy, located in the ski Chalet, here at Owl’s Head. The resort’s slogan, « Somewhere different », is surely well chosen for what has long been tagged the Eastern Townships’ hidden gem.
They received more than 30 cm of new snow this week. As expected, word got around, as the main chair was busy. No more than a few minutes wait to go back up, however.
It was surely worth the wait all day. We had some clouds, a bit of snow, and a bit of sun, all this with around minus -7 degrees. Beautiful Saturday on the slopes.
When you see snow flying at every turn, even in the steeper pitches of the « Kamikaze », you know conditions are great !
This « Somewhere different » is also all about the views of the majestic Memphremagog Lake. Let’s head on to the lakeside to catch a closer look.
Wonderful conditions on that side as well.
Did you say nice view ? Here’s another angle, from the popular « Lilly’s Leap ».
Not much to say about the conditions, but wonderful skiing / riding on well groomed fresh NATURAL snow ! 100 % of the terrain is available for you, glades too.
Maintaining the « tradition », my trail of the day : the « Colorado » not much visited, so barely no ice patches, and good snow.
Talk about « different » ? Owl’s Head is one of the last resorts of the Eastern Townships (alongside Mont Sutton) to have chairs from « another era » still in operation.
Brace yourselves and head out tomorrow ! Starting tonight, 5 to 10 cm of snow are expected here. Should make great « first tracks » tomorrow morning, with a max of minus – 5 degrees for the day. Super way to end the week-end, before the Superbowl game.
Also, for those looking for a « different » Valentine’s dinner, next Friday, February 14th, you are invited to treat your loved one in the MTN Hause here at Owl’s Head for a special dinner for the occasion. Enjoy !
