New Years Eve at Mont Sainte-Anne – December 31st 2024

Time to go out to finish the year and this freaky beginning of the season. After yesterday’s rain, I did not expect too much this morning. Well, there was some green spots at the bottom, and a little fog at the summit, as you can see.

Quite different at the top. Conditions were of the « early spring » kind. Temperatures in the + digits, with around + 3, did not feel too much like December 31st.

Nevertheless, skiing, and riding was very pleasant on the 15 trails available. A bit of wet granular snow on the surfaces. As expected, bases got on the icy side, but with the warm temperature, this ice was soft and grip was more than acceptable. My Trail of the Day : the « Melanie Turgeon », named after the local champion who was member of the Canadian team a few years ago.

As it has been the case for many ski resorts in the past years, Mont Sainte_Anne’s very friendly guides are there to welcome you and help you discover the mountain for a better experience. Greetings to Mrs Marie-Claude and her team !

As I expected, not a big crowd on the slopes, and no waiting at the lifts today.

As I mentioned before, conditions were surprisingly good considering last days’ rough weather, and after a little more snow (that’s on the way) ropes will come down and more runs will be open, especially on the terrain with no snow making (moguls, glades…).

In store for tomorrow, forecast indicates snow on the way 3-6 cm, with +1 on the thermometer. Then, in the upcoming days, more snow until Thursday. We’ll take it !

Come celebrate the countdown to 2025 at the resort. Lots of activities planned for tonight, outside and inside, at the Bar, with a live DJ and a musical duo to perform later in the evening. Also, Fireworks tonight around 9:30 pm. See schedule below, and visit Mont Sainte-Anne’s website for more info. Take note that for tomorrow, Mont Sainte-Anne will be open for skiing until 4:00 pm.

Wishing all of you a Happy New and… snowy… year 2025.
